Stoupa of Messenia is a settlement of the Municipality of West Mani. Previously, the settlement was part of the Municipality of Lefktro until the implementation of “Kallikratis Programme” in 2010. It is 45 km from Kalamata and is situated after Kardamyli village. This small village is a well-known tourist destination because of the beaches Kalogria and Stoupa, but mainly because of the novel “Zorba the Greek” written by Nikos Kazantzakis when he was living in the area.
